Bringing precision to hemodynamic monitoring

Percucision is developing CAPI, a small, patented wireless instrument that connects to a patient’s existing central line and continuously measures central venous pressure.

What we build

One small instrument on the line that’s already there.

CAPI, the Catheter-Attached Pressure Instrument, connects to an existing PICC or central venous catheter. No change to standard vascular access, no dedicated pressure line and no cable to the patient monitor.

  • Reusable electronic base

Holds the pressure-sensing hardware and wireless radio.

  • Single-use sterile sensor cap

Interfaces with the catheter. Replaced for every patient.

  • Wireless display

Live raw waveform and processed trend views.

  • Longitudinal record

Sessions saved and linked to a patient ID for review over time.

What the research shows

Bedside assessment alone misses what pressure data reveals.

Published research on heart failure and hemodynamic monitoring. These figures describe the clinical problem. They are not results of CAPI.

  • <50%

accuracy when physicians estimated RAP, PCWP and cardiac index from clinical assessment

Discordance between clinical assessment and invasive hemodynamics in advanced heart failure

  • ~68%

of patients had their therapy changed once invasive hemodynamic data was available

  • $19.5B

projected annual cost of heart failure in Canada

Why CAPI

Fewer components.Continuous data.

How CAPI compares with a conventional wired pressure transducer setup.

Traditional wired setupCAPI

ConnectivityCabled to the patient monitorWireless transmission
DataPoint readings on the monitor onlyReadings, waveforms and trends over time
AccessDedicated pressure-monitoring setupConnects to an existing PICC or CVC
ModelPrimarily disposable componentsReusable base and disposable sensor cap

How it works

Four steps, no new procedure.

CAPI works with the central line the patient already has, so it fits into existing nursing workflows.

Step 01 of 04

Connect

Attach the sterile sensor cap and reusable base to the patient’s existing PICC or CVC. No new line and no change to vascular access.
